2h. Coach teachers in and model effective use of technology tools and resources to systematically collect and analyze student achievement data, interpret results, and communicate findings to improve instructional practice and maximize student learning.

What:
I identified a target group, where the HCT(Higher College of Technology) English faculty. I created a survey to assess their needs. As they were educators of 21st learners, I wanted to identify any gaps they may have. So, the questions I have designed were focused on the relationship between educators and students. And what educators would love to know more about teaching and technology. After analyzing the data I gathered from the survey, I identify the participant's needs, and accordingly, I can design a professional development session that can help them. From the data analysis, I found out that most educators store information on their personal or work computers, which sometimes get attacked by viruses. They have to redo their work. If any data is lost, they didn't have a backup except their external hard drive, which made sharing the information with students harder.

So What:
Distinguishing the needs helps select which professional development sessions would be of more significant assistance and support the educator's teaching approach. Recognizing the needs helps in the growth process toward better approaches, and assisting teaches to use google drive to save and share documents saved them time & effort. Most importantly is to follow up with them after the PD session to see if the approaches they have learned have impacted their teaching or not, and if not, why. It is crucial to know what we have done incorrectly to work on it the next time.

Now What:
Going through the process of creating a need assessment, then analyzing the results, and creating a professional development session helped me recognize that even adult learning has different captivate levels. In adult learning, it's essential to involve them in the process they will go through, and it must be flexible and as per their expectations. The teaching and learning process is both a journey of discovering what we need and what works for us.
