5b. Model and facilitate safe, healthy, legal and ethical uses of digital information and technologies.
What:
I used the NYIT acceptable use policy to address equitable access to digital tools applicability for classroom or school widely used by students, teachers, administrators, and parents. In the AUP, I included the purpose of digital tools, the benefit, and regulation for all the users to have safe, healthy, legal, and ethical use of the digital environment.
So What:
When all users recognize the AUP, it creates a safer digital environment where students can discover and parents to worry less about online bullying. That is why such policies are essential to be acknowledged by all users so that anyone who breaks it can bear consequences. It is imperative to clearly mention the punishments that will occur if any policy aspect is broken. It's even more important to stick to those disciplines to learn the moral lesson in respecting others.
Now What:
It is essential to increase awareness of digital use policies. The digital world has rules like any other organization. To function probably, it must have rules and restrictions to protect the users. Social media rules have AUP; most users seem to forget that, but if any user reports an offensive post, inappropriate picture, or disrespectful comment, the social media organization has the right to delete the content. I believe that any digital activities must be bounded to AUP for conserve use.
